"Every 12 to 24 Hours..."

1)
ADELAIDE - Inside of the Thor Travel agency which is just west
of the Rundle Mall on the west side of downtown.
|
 |
2)
ADELAIDE - Suzy (great glasses) helps me book a flight to New
Zealand.
|
 |
3)
ADELAIDE - During my visit to Adelaide, I stayed with a nice
lady named Angie. She's the sister of Tula from Denver. Here
we are playing the board game "Boggle" in her family
room with her grandkids Leah (20), Sarah (10), Patrick (12),
and Julia (13).

 |
4)
ADELAIDE - I also had the chance to visit Tula and Angie's brother
Mickey, who is a doctor in Adelaide. They had me over for an
after dinner snack one night. From the left is Mickey's youngest
son Anthony, Angie, his wife Evelyn, and Mickey.
|
 |
5)
ADELAIDE - I also had breakfast with Tula and Angie's other
brother Jimmy, who owns a pharmacy in Adelaide. From the left
is Jimmy, his wife Marina, Angie, and their youngest daughter
Katina.

 |
6)
KANGAROO ISLAND - Kangaroo Island is the third largest island
off the coast of Australia. And it's known for having a virtually
untouched ecosystem. This is near Admiral's Arch, where New
Zealand fur seals gather to rest. However you can't see them
very well because their fur matches the color of the rocks.
|
 |
7)
KANGAROO ISLAND - Seal Bay is a nature preserve for the Australian
Sea Lion. These are some moms with their pups.
|
 |
8)
KANGAROO ISLAND - The Hanson Bay Sanctuary is home to dozens
of Koalas living in the wild. This one is just waking up before
feeding on a
Eucalyptus tree.
|
 |
9)
KANGAROO ISLAND - Oh yeah... Kangaroo Island also has kangaroos.
I ran into this wild one while driving around.
|
 |
10)
KANGAROO ISLAND - The island is also home to some very stunning
beaches and strong winds. These winds carry the sand several
miles inland until they collect on sand dunes. I attempted to
"sandboard" these dunes, but ended up taking several
face plants. Yummm! Extra minerals!
|
 |
11)
ADELAIDE - Adelaide is a "family" city with lots of
moms, dads, teenagers, and grandparents. A good place to see
this mix is the outdoor Rundle Shopping Mall.
|
 |
12)
ADELAIDE - Kelly (17) and Sarah (16) sing and play their guitar
on Rundle Mall. Both are entering their last year of high school
when their summer holiday ends in February.
|
 |
13)
ADELAIDE - Bridget (4) and sister Isabel (3) climb all over
dad Chris during a lazy afternoon on Rundle Mall.
|
 |
14)
YARRA VALLEY - My friend Georgia thought it would be funny to
take away my camera and catch me in some very candid moments
during our visit to Melbourne's wine country. This is me fighting
off the bazillion flies that swarm everywhere. They go right
for your face causing you to swat at them every few seconds
or so. The locals call the swat "Australia's Official Salute."
|
 |
15)
YARRA VALLEY - Wine grapes growing in the Yaring Farm Vineyard.
|
 |
16)
YARRA VALLEY - With friend Georgia after a short mountain hike
through the wilderness.
