1)
TAUPO, NEW ZEALAND - I was hoping to climb this active volcano
on my last full day in New Zealand, but rainy weather forced
me to cancel. Later in the day, the skies cleared leaving me
this view of my intended goal. Next time...

 |
2)
AUCKLAND, NZ - My friends Jasper and Ben took me out for Mexican
food on my last night. OH MY GOSH... MEXICAN FOOD!!! It had
been forever since I'd eaten MEXICAN FOOD!
|
 |
3)
AUCKLAND, NZ - And I ate an amazing chicken enchilada. YUMMMM!
|
 |
4)
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - During my six hour layover in Sydney, I
shot this typical shopping scene in the trendy Circular Quay
area. Just so you know, the sign saying "FCUK" is
the name of the store. It stands for "French Connection
U.K."

 |
5)
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - Robert fishes with his homemade fishing
pole in Sydney Harbour. When he was a child, he built his pole
out of Burma wood. Now in his seventies, he's fished with it
ever since.

 |
6)
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - This is where Robert fishes. He comes to
this same spot once a week to catch a special blackfish that
lives near the Sydney
Harbour Bridge. (Sydney Harbour Bridge.jpg)

7)
LOS ANGELES - During my four hour layover in L.A., my film-maker
friend Paula showed me around West L.A. I met Paula during my
first visit to Railay Beach in South Thailand and wrote about
her "Thor Story" with Adam during my Week-8 journal.
|
 |
8)
LOS ANGELES - While in L.A., Paula took me to the animation
studios of "South Park." It looks like any other industrial
park except for the sign. It says "Casa Bonita," which
is a famous Mexican restaurant back in Denver where the creators
of "South Park" used to live. There's also a cartoon
Senorita on the sign.

9)
AUCKLAND, NZ - On my very last hours in New Zealand, I found
you in the Auckland Museum. (Funny huh?) I actually didn't expect
to see you here, but I guess I should have had an idea when
I saw the opening display on the second floor.
|
 |
10)
AUCKLAND, NZ - The museum had a limited-run show called the
Cartoon Show. They filled the entire second floor with centuries
of cartoon-related art pieces.
|
 |
11)
AUCKLAND, NZ - There you are with your "best friend"
Spiderman. When I saw this display of comic books in the very
last room, I nearly lost my breath. Talk about shock! Okay,
so I didn't find a beautiful woman named Thor, but I did find
Thor. And in a strange way, it brought everything about my Search
for you back around to full-circle. Whoda thunk that I would
have to travel thousands of miles to the farthest corner of
the earth to find a comic book!

 |
12)
AUCKLAND, NZ - The two of us together.
