1) POKHARA AIRPORT - Nicole tells fortunes with a deck of cards while Linda and Doris listen in. Most of the team had just finished a week-long Himalayan trek, so they were tired and in need of some fresh clothes.

2) KATHMANDU - Doug, Jeff, Ed, Corinne, Scott, Doris, Nicole, and Linda all enjoy our last night in Kathmandu. The tourist district in Thamel was under a curfew due to the State of Emergency. So the evening was rather short.

3) KATHMANDU - The scene outside my hotel room in Kathmandu. A smog and airborne dust blocked our views of the Himalayas during our entire stay. Also near the bottom of the photo, you can see a pile of trash from all of the garbage. I saw these piles everywhere in Nepal.

4) KATHMANDU - Corinne hugs Ed goodbye at the Kathmandu airport. She stayed behind a few extra days while the rest of the gang headed east to Bangkok.

5) RAILAY BEACH - A truly rare moment...me lying on the beach. I tend to be a more adventurous traveler, so lounging isn't one of my strengths. I think this moment lasted about 15 minutes.

6) RAILAY LAGOON - This is how I like to relax. I had just trekked an incredibly steep mountainous region to get to this secluded lagoon atop of a mountain. Had the terrain been any steeper, I would have probably needed mountain climbing equipment.

8) RAILAY BEACH - The view from atop the same small mountain. The rocky topography isolates Railay Beach from the rest of southern Thailand. The only way to get to the beach is via the boat.

9) RAILAY BEACH - This is Jim Tomonto from Denver, Colorado. I ran into him while taking a rock-climbing lesson. He's been on the island for a while and volunteers to help teach rock climbing.
